My first career was in social work after completing my Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and Bachelor of Social Work degrees (more on why you should care about this later). While I enjoyed my job and found value in what I did, I felt that I was being held back creatively. My right brain was screaming at me and told me to follow my true passion and enter the creative field. In 2015 I decided to take a big risk and listen to it. I was fortunate enough to find an immersive-style diploma program that allowed me to work with "real-world" clients throughout my education and focus on the crucial elements of graphic design. I was pushed to my limits, had to meet tight deadlines, and my creativity shone in ways that it had previously been stifled. Most importantly, I discovered my passion in all things graphic design.

Let's go back to why you should care about my social work experience. To start, it has given me a unique approach to problem-solving and working with clients. Being a successful designer involves: customer service, time management, problem solving skills, and guts (hey, I quit my career to follow my dreams...I'm not afraid of pushing limits!). I am a great listener, and a super collaborator.
Recently I have had the pleasure of creating design work for several start-up companies, as well as some companies who have put their faith in me to tackle their rebranding projects! The most satisfying part of my job is witnessing the excitement of my clients when they really "connect" with their logo, stationery, website, or whatever else I have crafted for them! Good design should both solve a problem, and tell a story, and it is so rewarding to help a client navigate how they want to visually present themselves to the world.
I have many creative outlets that I incorporate my skills as a graphic designer into. Embroidery, painting, jewelry making, vinyl work (including custom clothing and decals), all find their way on my list of hobbies, and side gigs! I am an amateur photographer and love capturing special moments for my family and friends. I always need something to satisfy my creative "cravings".

I am always searching for new opportunities and connections so feel free to contact me if you would like to collaborate!
